About the speaker: Irene Lozano is a senior Spanish Politician and the current Secretary of State for Global Spain, a government agency tasked with the improvement of Spain's foreign image. With an extensive career in writing and journalism in various media organizations, Ms Lozano was a Member of Spanish Parliament from 2011 to 2016, before taking its current office in 2018. She holds a Degree in Linguistics from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Diploma in Philosophy from Birbeck’s College, London.

About the event: Ms Lozano will talk about the many threats that misinformation brings to both the Spanish and the European democracies, and analyze the particular cases of Catalan secessionism and Brexit. 

The talk will be held the next Thursday 20th June 2019, at Magdalen College's Auditorium, Oxford, from 17:30 to 18:45. In will be in English and the audience will have the possibility of having a Q&A session with the speaker.
